A Tad Bit Lost

Here we go. Ready for this? After a brief hiatus, we are releasing the final character preview. After this, we'll get back to churning out a product you guys can actually experience. Isn't that what you're here for, anyway?

Myles Crawford
Yeah I've run into him a few times. Literally. That, and he sits in front of me in chemistry class. My brother Rob has been chumming it up with him. I'm really not sure what to think of him. He seems like he wants to be a nice guy but just can't quite get there. Confused might be a word for him. The main thing that I've noticed about him is that he doesn't seem to try. In chemistry, he understands the material and answers questions, but doesn't try to connect the dots. It's like he's wandering through life. He's just there. Doesn't look much to the future. Doesn't take initiative. Of course, I don't know him very well. I like to think that I'm good at reading people. He can do what he likes and what makes him happy I won't tell him how to live. Though I'd like to make a few suggestions...

That's everyone! We'll continue posting occasional project updates (or just random thoughts the developers might have). As always, stay tuned.

Scientifically Speaking

Hello, friends. Our greatest apologies for the sudden lull in posts. School has started back up for the team and many of us cannot commit the same time that we were capable of over the summer. That said this project is still moving forward however we may skip a week here and there with postings.

Amy Burnett
Amy. That’s Rob’s sister right? I don’t see her often, but I’ve heard Rob say good things about her. Science. Yeah, that’s what she’s into. It would explain the lab coat. When I do see her, she’ll always “borrow” some of our props. I don’t know where they go and or when they come back. I don’t even know if they’re safe to touch. I’ve tried to stop her from taking our stuff, but she always claims we’ll get it back. Oh well, if you don’t mind, I’m going to continue to read my lines.

Once again, we haven't forsaken you guys! Stay tuned and we promise more exciting updates. Good things come to those who wait, right?

Back to the Basics

The next character is in the lab, and the door is locked.  We are trying to pry it open, but until that time I insist on sharing a short introduction to the project.

Create something you can be proud of and then share that thing with the world. It is a philosophy I feel many of us hold but more specifically one that myself and Soanuku followed through on. We all have that game, movie, or story that really touched us and changed how we view the world. We want to create the same emotion in others but found that at the time we thought we didn’t have the capability of finding a group to help us or a place to work on games (As many of us aspire to work in some field of the game industry.)

So it all started for fun, purely for the experience of creating a story we brainstormed anyway. Ideas turned into characters, characters gained personalities and personalities turned into relationships. Before we knew it we had a skeleton for “Learn To Be” but we still really didn’t know where to go from there. How were we, a few kids, supposed to find and pay people to work on such an insignificant project.

It came down to why were we even doing this ourselves? We weren’t making a dime nor did we plan to. We were doing it for the experience, for the chance to use our talents, and just to have a good time. Understanding this we agreed, we don’t want people who will work on this project for a salary or wage. Those people would only end up tainting the story in the pursuit of wealth. We wanted people who were willing to join us in this experience for the sake of the knowledge that could be gained.

Not a month later we had a decent group of people put together. I’d be lying if I said I had doubts we would even get that far and even more so if I said that I questioned the ability of a group of kids thrown together to cooperate with each other. But time and time again this group has proven me wrong. We are a determined group, what began as just acquaintances has turned into a bunch of friends working together from all across the continent. Working to make something that we can be proud, that we would want to play and share with everyone willing to see it. We are not here to get rich we are here to share a story.

Hopelessly Helpful

As usual, a new week means a new character intro. This time, it's Robert, Myles's roommate. Here we go!

Robert Burnett
I don’t really have much to say about Robert. He never really spoke to me. From a distance he seems quite busy, what with being a counselor. Honestly, he seems like a pretty nice guy, always trying to meet someone new, helping anyone he can. I will say this though, it’s like he doesn’t have any real goal. Yeah, he’s helping his friends out and that’s great, good for him, but he doesn’t have a desire to improve himself; he just goes wherever the wind pushes him. If I had the time I would want him as a friend, but as it stands I need to get back to studying.

Next week will bring, of course, another character intro. Prepare yourself appropriately!

Harmony

Hey friends. Another week, another character! This time around we would like to introduce Fiora.

Fiora Adessi
What can I tell you about Fiora? Besides being drop dead beautiful? Can’t tell you much buddy. She’s really polite and kind hearted. She seems...kind of... stoic? I know she participates a fair bit with the music circles, and she can play piano pretty well. Better than I ever will, if that means anything...probably doesn’t.
- Robert
That’s it for this week. We’ll be back next week with, of course, another character.

Disturbing Serenity

Hey guys, we’re back this week with another new intro for the masses. Have at!

Talia West
Talia’s always taking photos of someone or something; you couldn’t avoid her camera if your life depended on it. It seems like this strange obsession, but it’s reasonable enough. She pulls all sorts of crazy and unique ideas out of her mind and somehow manages to make them flow from her hand. It’s amazing. She’s not this really shy or overbearing person either, she’s a good balance between the two. Her sense of humour’s different as well; that’s what makes Talia really great, she’s so different yet approachable at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, though: Talia can get along with the guys as well as she does with the girls.

We’ll be back next week with yet another intro!

Happy People

Hey everyone, thanks for waiting another week for the next character intro! Enjoy!

Sunny Vance
Sunny is a damn nice girl; she’s kind to everybody. Any time spent with her is pretty fun, and she’s everywhere too. Photo club, astrology club, sciences club, book club -- if there was a club for fancy cheeses, she would be in it. She’s just a joy to be around, y’know? It’s like she is a non-stop happy machine, whose primary goal is to bring joy to every life.

As always, we'll see you next week with another character introduction!
